A talk given by Donald Johnstone Peck on Thursday, November 19, 2015, 7:30 pm at Griggstown Church Hall, Canal Road, Griggstown (behind the historical Griggstown Reformed Church). President of the Perth Amboy Historical Society and a direct descendant of the founders of Perth Amboy, Donald Johnstone Peck recently published a book entitled, "An American Journey of Hope". He chronicles the original vision of the twenty-four Proprietors of East Jersey in the 17th century to establish a colony for persecuted Scottish Quakers. Listen to the story of the conflict between a stronghold of prominent Loyalists and their engagement with many of America's leading patriots in the struggle for American religious and political independence.
