The Meadows Foundation presents:
Distinguished Expert to Speak on NJ Colonial Architecture
The Meadows Foundation is very proud to inaugurate its 2016 programming year Saturday, January 16, 2, p.m., at the Van Liew Suydam House, 280 S. Middlebush Rd., with a talk by David Veasey on our state’s glorious colonial architecture. The talk is based on his book, New Jersey’s Colonial Architectural Told in 100 Buildings. In this the most crowded and developed state in the union, a substantial number of buildings remain from our colonial past, including the Royal Governor’s Mansion in Perth Amboy, the still-functioning Black Horse Inn in Mendham, the meetinghouse-style Fairfield Presbyterian Church in Salem County, to Nassau Hall on the grounds of Princeton University, to Washington’s Headquarters in Morristown, to the Sandy Hook, Lighthouse, which is the oldest lighthouse in the country. Buildings from every county in the state are included in this marvelously illustrated book, copies of which will be available for sale and signing.
Tickets are $10 each, and may be paid for at the door. However, you must reserve in advance in case of inclement weather. Please reserve by calling 732-748-7657 and leave your name and phone number.
We look forward to welcoming you, and will serve refreshments after the talk!
