Dear Keep it Green  Supporters,

As you know, SCR138 passed the Senate with overwhelming bi-partisan support June 20th.  Unfortunately, the bill encountered some opposition in the Assembly and leadership did not bring it to a vote.  In response to the concerns raised, the bills were revised and reintroduced (SCR160/ACR205) to provide a flat $200 million dedication per year for three decades.  Attached, please find our most recent press release which calls on the Legislature to act on those bills this summer.

The Senate Environment and Energy Committee will hold a public hearing on SCR160 following the regular Committee meeting at 10 AM Thursday July 18.

We need your help to see movement in the Assembly!

Phone calls to the Assembly Speaker and Majority Leader would be especially helpful right now!  An appropriate message is "I/we support ACR205 and urge you to bring this important legislation to a vote (add a personal note on the importance of this legislation or say please don't let decades of successful park and preservation efforts come to an end)."

Please stay tuned for a date in the near future for a Full KIG Coalition meeting, and as always, let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Megan
