The Great Backyard Bird Count:
Come and take part in a continental effort in better understanding our avian friends. The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where birds are across the continent. Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes on one day, or you can count for as long as you like each day of the event. It's free, fun, and easy-and it helps the birds.
This year the count is going to be held from February 18 to February 21.
To prepare for this annual event, come join the park naturalist at 1:00 pm in the D&R Canal State Park’s Education Building located at 145 Mapleton Road (Princeton) for a PowerPoint presentation that will explain when, how and why the Great Backyard Bird Count works.
